    Position Summary

    Quality Assurance Manager

     

    Crowe is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager within our Applied Technology – Audit delivery unit.  The QA Manager will own the “Built in Quality” for the product, which means to ensure that each step, at every increment, meets appropriate quality standards throughout development.  The QA Manager will make quality everyone’s job while working towards a goal of creating an environment with high quality that can deliver within a sustainable lead time and adapt to a changing business environment.

    Qualifications

    • B.S. or B.A. degree preferred
    • 5+ years of QA experience
    • 2+ years of QA Lead/Manager experience
    • Practical experience with Agile methodology
    • Desire to understand the purpose of the product(s) at hand and promote quality
    • Clear communicator (verbal and written)
    • Ability to multi-task and change focus as needed
    • Comfortable actign as liaison between project development team, Scrum Master(s), project leadership, and any applicable Stakeholders
    • Previous experience in a customer facing or UAT facilitation role preferred
    • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables

    Responsibilities:

    • Execute the testing strategy
      • Contribute to and updates test strategy when needed
      • Understand appropriate types and levels of testing needed for scope of effort and planning the work
      • Understand the bigger picture of the product and take into account the product roadmap when testing
      • Collaborate with Product Manager, Owners and team members to ensure acceptance criteria is understood, what business value is being delivered, and validated during development
      • Collaborate with product team to ensure any non-functional requirements defined are considered during development or appropriately automated/monitored as future iterations are executed
    • Lead test execution efforts
      • Ensure test cases are traceable to requirements
      • Ensure test case creation, review and execution process are implemented
      • Assist with team communication and collaboration
      • Work with business to identify test cases that should be considered for smoke testing, regression and or automation
      • Ensure various levels of base-line regression suites are in place as features are developed and released into the solution
      • Collaborate with product team to ensure appropriate data sets are used in testing
    •  Lead UAT process per project/product
      • Work with product leadership on release candidate validation, approval, and sign off
      • Coordinate UAT team members and schedule
      • Assist UAT with any questions if necessary
      • Triage reported UAT defects
      • Review UAT defects for improvement areas in test cases, application or process
      • Ensure proper UAT approval is documented
    • Automation
      • Work with product leadership to Identify test cases eligible to be included in Regression and/or Smoke Testing automation suite
      • Work with Automation Engineer to ensure proper automation framework and tooling is utilized for testing efforts (functional/non-functional)
      • Work with Automation Engineer/QA team to ensure proper tests have been automated or refactored (functional/non-functional)
      • Implement an automation and maintenance plan with Automation Engineer/QA team
      • Work with Automation Engineer/Change Management to ensure tests are integrated with the build and release pipeline
      • Monitor, Analyze and report test results and for defects, effectiveness, and value of automate tests
    • Review VSTS sprint team items for compliance with QA standards
      • Bugs created according to standards
      • Results documented according to standards
      • Ensure bugs are properly passed/deferred
      • Ensure failed tests have been appropriately deferred within the closed sprint
      • Ensure proper closure documentation and status is completed
    • Consult and provide improvements
      • Collaborate with sprint team bug root causes and ways the teams can improve
      • Manage, mitigate, and communicate quality issues to the appropriate parties and stakeholders
        • Support product ownership in backlog duties
    • Analyze post-release items and release health to promote consistency and continuous improvement
