    Position Summary

    Financial and Operations Manager


    Reporting to the Performance Consulting and Applied Technology Operations Leader and the Financial Services team, the Financial and Operations Manager will support the business units through continuous improvement of operations, processes and analysis.  We expect the Financial and Operations Manager to have the intellect and business acumen to provide value to the business. This position will also support other business unit initiatives, as assigned.  To accomplish these tasks, the Financial and Operations Manager will be expected to do the following:

    • Function as a key financial and strategic planning resource to business unit leaders
    • Ensure financial discipline and control
    • Assess the economic/financial impact of major business decisions
    • Design and implement the reporting needed to maintain a financially strong business unit
    • Participate in setting financial goals, budgets, forecasts and objectives for the business units
    • Coordinate business units needs among other FS personnel and functions

    Essential Functions:


    Financial Systems & Processes – Knowledge and use of a broad spectrum of finance systems and processes (methodologies)

    • Analyze detailed financial information and provide recommendations that support financial planning and decision making
    • Implement innovative solutions for process improvement and qualitative practices
    • Identify and resolve accounting issues related to business and process change

    Budget Preparation & Administration – Define, build and maintain models for creating revenue and operating budgets and forecasts

    • Manage budget process including defining, building and maintaining models for generating revenue and operating budgets and forecasts
    • Create budget reporting to analyze progress throughout the fiscal year
    • Make recommendations as needed throughout the fiscal year

    Reporting & Analysis – Gather, organize, analyze and report financial and business information

    • Manage financial reporting including analyzing, interpreting and ensuring accuracy
    • Provide guidance with regard to the practical application of reporting information
    • Direct the preparation of relevant reporting information.
    • Analyze trends and anomalies to identify potential issues that require attention or action

    Business Knowledge & Awareness – Understands the business drivers and how they link back to the overall strategy

    • Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of business concepts, including business analysis and planning methodologies
    • Apply appropriate business process knowledge in support to BU activities


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree; Finance or Accounting.
    • CPA or relevant certification preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and interpretation.
    • Experience in finance related business role and/or professional service industry is a plus.
    • Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

    Financial Services (FS):  Financial Services manages the firm's billing systems and reporting, general accounting, partner and director services and tax and compliance needs, while also monitoring Crowe's financial performance and planning.
