    Position Summary

     

     

    Crowe’s National Tax Exempt team serves more than 2,600 tax-exempt clients nationally across a broad spectrum of the tax exempt sector.  Our team of over 40 dedicated specialists spend 100% of their time serving the unique needs of our tax exempt clients. Our team utilizes our proprietary tax software, Crowe Tax Risk Assessment & Control (C-TRAC®) suite of solutions to collect, analyze, and assist our clients in all areas of tax compliance. Through the use of our technology, our Crowe professionals are able to provide the highest level of service to our clients resulting in spending less time ticking-and-tying and more time on analysis of the reporting, tax implications, and providing overall value-added solutions to our clients.

    The team is currently searching for a manager in the San Francisco area to help manage the growing team of professionals and have the overall responsibility of managing client service engagements for tax-exempt organizations and their affiliates in the San Francisco market as well as clients nationally. A successful candidate will be prepared to assist current leadership manage the overall engagement of our tax-exempt clients, prospects, and possess the following but not limited skills and responsibilities:

     

    • Proactively provide an exceptional client experience by effectively leading engagement teams and proactively identifying tax planning opportunities
    • Experience with researching issues, client correspondence, leading meetings internally and externally, and identifying opportunities for additional solutions to meet client needs
    • Technical expertise to review Forms 990, 990-T and 990-PF
    • Training, coaching and mentoring, and supervising of staff
    • Contributing to the firm’s thought leadership
    • Keeping up to date with current issues, including but not limited to Tax Reform
    • Taking an active role in developing new business opportunities with current and prospective clients
    • Strong communication skills 
    • Mission-minded and desire to service tax-exempt organizations
    • Enthusiasm and passion to contribute to a growing practice

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in accounting
    5+ years tax experience in public or industry with exempt organization background.

    Form 990, 990-T and 990-PF experience is required.

    CPA required 

    MST is a plus but not required.

    Must be able to communicate articulately verbally and in writing, exhibit good judgment and logic when dealing with client issues.
