    Position Summary

    Instructional Designer - Senior Associate


    The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and/or developing learning solutions (e-Learning, m-learning, webinars, instructor-led courses and training materials) and performance support (videos, job aids, and electronic tools) for a variety of skills. The Instructional Designer also is responsible for managing and maintaining existing learning programs and curriculum. The ideal designer is a high performing motivated individual with a desire to create innovative learning solutions in a professional services industry. This individual will consult with key stakeholders to identify appropriate solutions and to align learning solutions to business needs. Successful candidates will work on multiple projects.


    This individual will:

    • Consult with Curriculum Leads and subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine learning needs and recommend solutions. This individual is not expected to be a content expert.
    • Design and develop engaging and innovative learning solutions and performance support in collaboration with SMEs and the learning team
    • Convert instructor-led courses into innovative virtual learning aligning with the firm’s mobility strategy that supports employees who may be working remotely
    • Collaborate with team members to:
      • effectively contribute to all phases of the instructional process - design, develop, pilot, release, evaluate and revise
      • create designs that support assessing learning effectiveness without compromising the need for efficient course maintenance
      • create or revise work plans and budgets
      • ensure project deliverables are in scope and on-time
    • Provide quality assurance for all instructional design processes and deliverables
    • Manage project documentation such as work plans, instructional design maps, storyboards, video scripts, assessment strategy, pilot documentation, and errata sheets
    • Work directly with Compliance and/or the Program Delivery team to ensure learning solutions and associated documentation meet NASBA requirements for Continuing Professional Education credit
    • Leverage knowledge of adult learning theory (e.g. cognitive, Blooms Taxonomy, etc.) in creating cost-effective, innovative learning solutions that are easy to create and maintain
    • Keep abreast of new trends in learning and apply when appropriate
    • Work with Program Delivery and internal clients to schedule and secure venues and other support needed to successfully deliver synchronous learning solutions
    • Work with business unit resource management to secure qualified instructors and facilitators
    • Ensure that instructors are prepared
    • Provide input and thought leadership in support of providing the right learning to the right audience at the right time in an effective method
    • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies

    Minimum, Preferred and Helpful Qualifications


    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Education, Instructional Systems Design, Adult Education or related field or equivalent experience
    • 1-3 years of experience designing and developing a variety of learning solutions
    • Provide work samples of instructional design, visual design and writing
    • Experience designing and developing in one or more of the following: Articulate Storyline, Lectora, Articulate Studio, Camtasia or related tools
    • Experience with virtual learning platforms (e.g. WebEx, Adobe Connect)
    • Experience editing graphics such as sizing, cropping, colorizing, etc.
    • Creative and effective writing of instructional texts and audio scripts
    • Experience consulting with clients to determine the best learning solution
    • Ability to develop and maintain relationships
    • Effective and appropriate written and verbal communication skills in a business environment
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2016: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote


    • Experience designing and developing:
      • experiential eLearning simulations
      • learning solutions based on gamification principles
      • innovative delivery strategies
    • Familiarity with SharePoint 2013

    Helpful and not required:

    • Familiarity with Cornerstone Management System
    • Awareness of NASBA guidelines for designing learning solutions that qualify for CPE credit
    • Experience in a professional services firm and/or highly regulated environment
