    Position Summary

    The IT Operations Monitoring Engineer will lead the IT Operations team in the implementation and configuration of real-time monitoring, alerting, and reporting across the wide-array of Crowe’s Operations Infrastructure.  This individual will work in cooperation with technical and operational staff to ensure that monitoring capabilities are functioning within the needs of the organization.

    • Implement monitor and alerting solutions to provide early detection of production outages
    • Work directly with application owners to understand and establish monitoring requirements
    • Create and maintain documentation for monitoring processes and requirements
    • Work across Crowe Business Units to establish availability and reporting metrics
    • Participate and direct efforts with regard to health and performance monitoring
    • Identify and provide accurate, timely, and relevant communication to management on application performance monitoring (APM) technology changes and trends within the industry
    • Determine cost effective monitoring tool mix
    • Collaborate with IS Management to create business monitoring requirements to translate into technical specifications

    Qualifications

     

    • 5 years or more with strong experience with the following or similar tools:  Microsoft System Center, Microsoft Azure App Insights, Idera SQL Diagnostic Manager, Riverbed APM, Solarwinds, VMWare monitoring tools
    • Determine and prioritize monitoring focusing on key Infrastructure areas:  Windows Server OS, VMWare, SharePoint, SQL, as well as other custom applications
    • Demonstrated knowledge of both cloud based and on-premises monitoring tools
    • The ability to manage a number of projects, and be able to adjust quickly to changing priorities in a dynamic environment
    • Demonstrated management of IT metrics with proven statistical results
    • Flexible, agile and able to manage within ambiguity as necessary
    • Excellent organizational/project management and analytical skills
    • Willingness to work after-hours and during maintenance periods as needed

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Systems or engineering fields, or equivalent experience
    • Industry certification, a plus
    • Minimum 7 years related work experience
    • Agile Software Development Life Cycle Experience, preferred
