    Position Summary

     

    Crowe’s commitment to the quality and integrity of our tax services is a central focus of our firm.  The Technical Services practice within the National Tax Office (“NTO”) is responsible for developing policy and protocols employed within Crowe’s nationwide Tax practice and working with engagement teams to support the provision of quality services to our clients by practically applying laws, regulations and professional standards.

    This role is for a dynamic, insightful and solutions-oriented individual who will work closely with NTO partners allowing you to develop your skills under the leadership of specialists in the practice area. The role requires someone with confidence who will seek out engagement and interaction with all levels of organizational leadership and display a hands on “can do” approach.

    Responsibilities

    • Apply current knowledge of today’s professional services environment and standards governing the provision of tax services
    • Ensure quality and risk mitigation to protect the practice from financial loss on projects
    • Work with other firm-wide risk management groups including information systems and legal compliance
    • Respond to queries from practice offices, balancing client needs without compromising standards
    • Develop and implement training programs to further knowledge of standards within practice offices
    • Plan, implement and maintain policies and programs to ensure compliance with standards
    • Manage the maintenance of tax practice management documents including engagement letters and standard tax documents
    • Manage the Tax Quality file review program which provides feedback to Tax engagement teams on how they are delivering services in a manner consistent with our commitment to quality.



    Qualifications

        • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
        • Minimum 8 years of broad-based federal tax experience in public accounting, strong preference for Big 4 or large regional firm experience
        • CPA certification and/or JD/LLM
        • Prior experience in a National Tax Office or Tax Quality practice area is preferred but not required
        • High integrity and ethical standards
        • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
        • Strong managerial, project management and organizational skills
        • A clear understanding of today’s professional services environment and the regulatory environment governing the provision of non-audit services in a large audit environment
        • An understanding of the tax business and services provided
        • An ability to develop and implement organizational policies and their effective application through monitoring
        • Enterprise risk minded – business enablement without compromising compliance with policies and regulations
        • Ability to make or recommend decisions, good judgment, ability to compromise where appropriate, reach closure on matters
